Where you will be working

Dublin Waste to Energy (DWTE) operate a 690,000 tonne per year, 65MW, Waste to Energy facility in Dublin.  The facility provides the Dublin region with a long-term sustainable and environmentally superior waste management solution, enabling it to divert post-recycled waste from landfills and become locally self-sufficient in managing waste, consistent with regional, national and EU waste policies.

The Customer Accounts Administrator for DWTE will be responsible for assisting in administration of waste customer accounts and billing of customers. The successful candidate will support the local team in the area of administration and analysis. In addition, the person will assist management in the reconciliation and payment of energy invoices from the single energy market (SEM).  Furthermore, the person will assist with facility tours.   This role will report directly to the Project Director. 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following activities:

  • Accounts:   This will include:
    • Billing waste suppliers and managing queries
    • Accounts payable and receivable for DWTE/DWTES including energy payments, receipts. 
    • Assisting the Account Manager and Energy Director in the following:.
      Preparing monthly accounts for waste and energy sales. 
      Energy reports
    • Ensuring appropriate finance controls are in place. 
  • Administration:   Support in the following areas:
    • Administration of waste supplier accounts
    • New Waste supplier and Haulier set-up
    • Addressing queries from the weighbridge and waste supplier queries.
    • Preparing weekly / monthly waste reports, in the preparation of the monthly management report
    • Liaising with Encyclis operations to provide updates on waste deliveries. 
    • Special waste delivery management and set-up
    • Weekly and Monthly Energy reconciliation. 
    • Assisting with the organisation of facility tours and liaising with the tour leads. 

 

Qualifications

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable role desirable. 
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of the following applications an advantage: Oracle/DMS, Peoplesoft, PCScales
  • Very Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be detailed oriented and previous finance or accounting experience would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English Language and must display a professional demeanour with high ethical standards, confidentiality and trustworthy
  • Self-Starter, Team Player with drive and ambition
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under rigid time constraints. 
  • Good with time management and have a good attention to detail
  • Excellent at problem solving and organisational skills. 
  • Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation and resourcefulness.
  • Experience in the waste industry in is an advantage.
  • An accounting technician qualification or similar would be an advantage. 
  • A knowledge of the waste and /or energy market would be an advantage.
