Where you will be working

 

Encyclis Dublin Waste to Energy Facility is located in Dublin 4, on the Poolbeg peninsula.

This fantastic facility has been fully operational since 2017, diverting over 600,000 tonnes of residual waste from landfill every year and providing enough baseload electricity to power over 100,000 homes.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Lead EC&I will coordinate, supervise and undertake all planned and unplanned inspection, maintenance, diagnostics and repair work on plant.

 

Championing safety, efficiency and compliance with the Encyclis procedures, whilst ensuring the facility remains operationally compliant with the Environmental Permit. The EC&I Lead is also responsible for the Health and Safety of all site staff, contractors and visitors under their supervision at Dublin Facility (ERF).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Manage the day-to-day and strategic maintenance to include leading a team of EC&I Maintenance Technicians, multiple Contractors and any additional agency workers required for the safe and effective operation of the facility.
  • Promote and support the delivery of Encyclis’s Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work, whilst working in accordance with all Approved Codes of Practice, Senior Management Instructions and Local Management Instructions (ACOP’s, SMI’s and LMI’s) to ensure we are setting people to work in a safe manner.
  • Reporting of any Health, Safety and Environmental unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents, leading and supporting investigations as required.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Encyclis policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Support recruitment and training requirements and carry out periodic performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Responsible for the execution of all planned, preventative and reactive maintenance for EC&I, HV/LV electrical assets and systems within the boundary of the ERF.
  • Line management responsibilities for EC&I Maintenance Technicians.
  • Co-ordinate and supervise all plant maintenance activities encompassing contract work and service agreements; whilst ensuring the work of employees and contractors is suitably controlled and executed in accordance with work scopes and specification, and at all times adhering with agreed safe systems of work.
  • The Lead EC&I is to be fully conversant with all maintenance processes and procedures with the ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute planned outages.
  • The role requires a flexible approach to ensure that critical work is achieved in a timely manner, with quality being paramount.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager with the development and implementation of short and long term maintenance strategies ensuring that industry best practices and technical procedures are applied where available.
  • Responsibility for CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems) maintenance and calibrations to ensure the plant remains environmentally compliant in accordance with the relevant EA / EN Standards.
  • The ability to interrogate and diagnose faults on Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Remote I/O (RIO) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Work with the Maintenance Planner to develop and manage the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) ensuring work is managed and prioritised to avoid overdue tasks.
  • Support the development and management of the EC&I spares inventory and the EC&I workshop.
  • Lead EC&I improvement processes, management of corrective actions, work order notifications and rectification, ensuring effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is undertaken for any significant or repetitive events.
  • Review corrective, preventative and proactive maintenance programs to support plant integrity. This will include analysis of work orders, technical proposals and costings to assist in specifying future CAPEX and project implementation.
  • Take ownership of plant cleanliness and ensure excellent standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times.
  • The EC&I Lead will take a lead role in monitoring and improving the site H&S performance, to include safety inspections, plant area responsibilities and partake in routine H&S meetings and forums.
  • Review, develop and maintain accurate and up to date Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) for the EC&I Department.
  • The individual must be confident and competent to be able to provide cover for the Maintenance Manager or Mechanical Supervisor in the event of absence.

 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

 

  • The preferred level of education is Technical Degree in electrical, control and instrumentation with technical apprenticeship training, although relevant other qualifications with energy recovery or large process plant experience will be considered for the role.
  • This role requires an EC&I background in ERF, plant or process maintenance with outage/major shutdown experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of pressure parts, gas paths, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pressure systems, vessels and rotating equipment is essential.
  • Preferably a minimum of five year's experience with a practical and supervisory background.
  • Experience in supervising teams to deliver against agreed key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Experience of maintenance planning and management activities in other comparable process facilities.
  • Working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and file sharing methodology systems.
  • Experience of managing contractors and work packages.
  • An awareness of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is desirable.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, specifically to include the accurate recording of detailed maintenance reports.

  • Ability to deliver added value and assist in the improvement of operational performance.
