Where you will be working

 

Encyclis Rookery South Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) is located near Stewartby in Bedfordshire, just a few minutes off the M1 Motorway and only 20 minutes from Milton Keynes central.

This impressive three-line facility has been operational since January 2022 and has the capacity to process 585,000 tonnes of residual waste annually, delivering sustainable electricity to meet the needs of around 112,000 homes.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Inventory Controller will work in line with Encyclis procedures and processes to ensure the procurement and supply of materials and parts are available to the Operations and Maintenance Team. The Inventory Controller is responsible for the safe operation and administration of the facility stores at the Energy Recovery Facility.

 

What we need from you…

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities of the role

 

  • The Inventory Controller will ensure effective stores management to include ordering parts and materials, issuing and receiving goods, managing stock levels, conducting stock control audits and generating reports.
  • Coordinate inventory requirements with the Procurement Specialist, Maintenance Manager and the O&M team, to ensure the availability and supply of parts, materials and maintenance tools.
  • The Inventory Controller will be responsible for establishing the site stores facility. Develop, implement and maintain stock control procedures and risk assessments.
  • Administer the safe receipt and dispatch of materials to and from the facility, coordinating with suppliers and transport companies to ensure the timely transportation of goods and materials.
  • Receive and manage all associated documentation associated with COSHH, CE Certification, Materials Certificates and any other relevant documentation.
  • Utilise the stores management system in coordination with the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure records are appropriately managed.
  • Identify high risk stock items and propose material strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Operate forklift truck and overhead cranes when required.
  • Promote and support the delivery of the Encyclis Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work, and work in accordance with all ACOP, SMI and LMI to ensure we are setting people to work safely.
  • Reporting any Health, Safety and Environmental unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents.
  • Support the implementation of short and long term maintenance strategies in line with industry best practices and technical procedures.
  • The Inventory Controller will be required to support H&S monitoring and performance to include safety inspections, plant inspections, plant area responsibilities and partake in routine H&S meetings and forums.
  • Take ownership of plant cleanliness and ensure excellent standards of housekeeping are maintained.
  • Maintain accurate records of COSHH substances.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 

  • The preferred levels of education are to a National Diploma or National Vocational Qualification Level 3 or 2 in a technical or science subject, although relevant other qualifications with energy recovery or large process plant experience will be considered for the role.

This role requires experience in the following:

 

  • Preferably one year (1) of experience, in a related environment.
  • Experience of developing stores systems and procedures is desirable.
  • Experience with working with technical and engineering information and drawings.
  • Working knowledge of COSHH.
  • Forklift truck and overhead crane operations including basic rigging experience is desirable.
