The Opportunity

 

This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of an Encyclis Energy Recovery Facility, sitting within the site leadership team.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll lead the maintenance function, coordinating day-to-day activities of multi-discipline teams and contractors, embedding best practice, and ensuring assets are maintained safely, reliably and cost-effectively.

You’ll be accountable for driving operational excellence, meeting and exceeding OEE and KPI targets, while collaborating closely with the Regional Engineering Team and peers across other Encyclis sites to share learning and strengthen our culture of excellence.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

 

Essential Criteria (or demonstrable equivalent experience)

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate (UK or equivalent)—ideally Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering—or equivalent technical experience.
  • Broad plant maintenance background with significant hands-on and/or supervisory experience across electrical and/or mechanical maintenance (c.10 years’ experience).
  • Strong industrial safety capability: Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
  • Proven track record of recruiting, developing and training multi-disciplinary operations/maintenance teams.
  • Budget management experience with performance management and cost control.
  • Experience developing and coordinating operating/emergency/safety procedures to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.
  • Ability to produce performance, compliance and operational reports; high proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant technical standards for regulated industrial environments.
  • Experience managing regulatory relationships, including the Environment Agency and HSE.

Desirable / Advantageous Criteria 

  • Cross-disciplinary supervisory background spanning multiple craft areas and operational support functions.
  • Multi-site experience or exposure to similarly complex, regulated operations.
  • Proven planning and execution of outages/shutdowns, major overhauls or significant maintenance campaigns.
